Social Networking or Social Not-Working?

What's being social? ....A cool hangout with friends, a family get together, attending some social functions....! Well, If you ask a few freaks (it includes me too :P) who are somehow in love with social networking there is a different story to relate altogether!

Did you ever get a facebook message from your mum that reads ' what will you have for your dinner'? No!!! Great...Then you are on the right track pal....but if fortunately or unfortunately something close has happened then a quick alarm- you are in the grasp of the 'Social Not- Working Virus'.

Wondering what's that? Its actually a 'social networking spree' where you hop from one social network to another increasing the number of friends, commenting on posts, tweeting recent updates, bla bla... the end result..? you end up with innumerable number of friends, retweets on your post, or 'like' on your links but..but...but with a complete blockage from the world outside your computer screen.

The hangout may go for a toss and your friends might look forward to posting some hot words on wall, or the relatives who have almost forgotten how you looked may just log in to some to catch a glimpse ?

If social networking has turned to social not-working....its time to look for a cure...

But the question is how?.....looking forward to some great ideas!!!

This will be a contradicting issue for once and for always! Facebook, Twitter, Blogging, Orkut, Gtalk, Linkedin and so and so forth; there are so many ways to keep in touch with people! But we can survive as well even without all of them. For me these things were always something through which I can know NEW people, anyway for the people I wanted to be in touch I'd stay connected, no matter what!

Sharing my personal experience here, I've had my ugly share of bits and pieces from this virtual world coz I am one known face in this blogging world! May be you know, but just coz I won three Indiblogger contests on a row, people who were sweet on my face for 2 years, suddenly became the haters! But not even for once they can touch me personally coz they are too nonexistent!

All am trying to say here is, everything has it's own good share, but there has to be line, which we should draw for others and for ourselves too!

All said and done, happy birthday and thanks to this social networking I know this about you! :P :)

Very aptly put forward the problem of social networking virus...probably the anxiety to know the unknown...anonymity increases it...as viruses cannot be eradicated easily the only vaccination is of...to inject the truth...no matter wat...those relations are connected via wires or wireless...we have to live for wat exits around us...honestly even i cant resist myself checkin mails or updates from my mobile...but have vaccinated myself ;)

true - too much of anything (even good food) is bad :D

yesterday, I had a talk with a JU professor (Sujit Da) who is just disgusted with the FB Generation... He said "good for nothing in real world "... :D

Well I guess again this how you perceive...."Social networking" is a virtual world altogether....so why go into the conflict of why isnt it working.....you make it work, it will work....as far as I am concerned I love this platform because I useto network..connect and share...and that is not possible due to geographical barriers...I can share my views in no time...but yes I do keep my personal life out of this....u will never see me reaching out to my close friends via FB or Twitter...I never do that...there I need my own space...so obviously I will never want my mom to ask me on FB where am I....so these are two worlds for me...the virtual and real....I love the real world and I use the virtual to endorse myself...ha ha ha

t is absolutely true that social networking sites r becoming social not-working sites. I think indians are emotional fools by tweeting or comenting to other posts. Did anybody ever dare to think why these social networking sites are give u free registration???????...... The true fact is that indians are being self employed by free of cost. Eact comment or tweet u post in fb or tweeter costs 400 bugs. We work for them at fee of cost. The have a 40,000 crore turnover per anum in india. jago grahak jago??????????? It is high time for us......

Social networking is a simple way of being social without leaving home, even a non social person can easily have social activities by using social networking sites, so i think social network sites work
