The Saga Of Being Single!

Trust me people this is by far one of the most interesting chapter of my life. The topic sells like a hot cake everyday as its fascinating at the same time bewildering to watch some who are jealous of my freedom, some trying out for linkups and others who follow my super duper lifestyle.

Discarding my habit of taking credits just to mention that I am often questioned-
'Why don't you have a boyfriend..?You are pretty cool and good looking babes?'
My honest reply-Is it a necessity? I don't want a boyfriend just for the sake of it or as a status symbol...it may sound a little mysterious...isn't it? But its not.The simple reason being why to make your life a tragedy of living hell when its already the best one can have with a great family, thousands of cool friends to look up to and hundreds of followers at the social networking sites. What more can you want...?

At times I am often bombarded with questions as to why I am not into this crappy mess..I guess people want to pull you into the sloppy maze they are into as they find it difficult to bear it alone..."we-are-suffering-you-too-join-types-you know".They would give slogans and dialogues on commitments and sacrifice in public, but when it comes to applying them..impossible!Where is their space then? Among the millions of 'committed' people I come across everyday I hardly find anyone truly happy being committed.Everywhere there is the same story-A new fight on trivial things, lots of expectations, waiting for the phone calls(that never come)...followed by some filmy drama of tears, snobs and break off vows, wasting your sleep, mental peace, mood, energy and finally the phone bill. Then what's the point?

The one you love doesn't understand you, care for you, ignores you...wants SPACE, universe, satellites and what not...still you carry on..just to boast that you are committed.Sorry boss mereko toh eh funda samaj me nehi aata!

But the one thing that pisses me off is when the first thing someone asks is whether I found someone or not? Why?Was I supposed to go for a 'Google' search for boyfriend or what? Ask me how I am...how is life? what about studies? parties?...there are unlimited things you can ask when you call someone right? Then what makes people think that being single is just not done...You have to have a tag of 'I'm engaged' else you are wasting your life.

Being a literature student my idea of love, life and relationships differs from the normal crowd.I can't go around with every guy I happen to meet. Its a serious thing which demands loads of sentimental attachment, bonding, understanding and craziness.Sometimes some petty childish things make a lot of sense...but people hardly understand that nowadays.

Though I'm a bit commitment-phobic after getting to know of the situations my friends face...but still it doesn't mean that I am against the concept of 'Love'.It is by far the best thing that can happen to anyone but to get your dream partner is almost impossible.'Mr Perfect' is a relative word and an impossible find...and my heart disagrees to settle for anything less...this is the only problem.

But at the end of the day when I find myself free from all trivial tensions, having fultoo fun with friends & family with no time management problems, being a self dependent gal and enjoying the privilege of being the talk of the town...it does feel great!!Some even go to the extent of declaring-'I wish I had Your lifestyle'.

My funda-'Sorry boss...being committed is easy...but to remain single takes something more'...At present I love being single and in no mood to mingle.

"Eh achi baat hai,ya buri baat hai,woh baad ki baat hai...
Abhi ke liye bas ehich baat hai..."

I loved this blog coz i share the same temperament of "Being single and not ready to mingle". Just for the sake of getting into a relation can really be claustrophobic. Why are people so keen on asking"WHY"
But i m quite sure that this "why?" would vanish when people starts realizing and respecting individual "space" and "decision" to be SINGLE.
Wish you all the luck so that you can get your Mr Perfect....which is perfectly impossible....But carry on the Google search..

Anonymous,
Its not about what I should or what I should not...Its all about what I like and what my heart desires....!!!Thinking problem starts when your thoughts are not clear...If you aim the sky you will at least reach the stars. The funda lies there!I have already mentioned that 'perfection' is a relative term. What is perfect to you may not be perfect to me...I know what perfection I am looking for so no worries...:)

Well. Love is complicated. Being single is a status and being committed breaks the status. But is love all about adding a status to yourself? Not always. Adding a status is like trying to let people know that "look I am engaged or single". That gives people ample scope to ask and bug you till you burst out. But this post is a great way to unleash those inner thoughts for girls like us who are stuck up in the space between being single and committed........Nice one indeed...interesting....Its like leave it or take it......that shud be our answer...Being single is fun...

I WRITE A POEM TO EXPRESS MY VIEW ON THAT ARTICLE:
LOVE AND LIFE WALKS TOGETHER,/
AT THE END OF THE DAY YOU NEED A LOVER,/
NOT YOUR FRIENDS,BROTHER OR FATHER AND MOTHER,/
ONLY A TRUE CARER./

YOU GET REFRESHMENT IN HIS ARMS,/
YOU FEEL THE LOVE'S CHARMS./
WHEN ALL ARE GOING, YOU DO NOTHING,/
"YOU COME AND EMBRACE ME" YOU CHANTING./

THE SAGA COMES FROM A SAGE'S MOUTH,/
HE HIMSELF HOLDS HIS LADY'S HAND IN HIS YOUTH./
SINGLENESS IS AN ABSURD WORD,/
IT IS NOTHING BUT A BOOKISH WORD./

QUARREL ON TRIVIAL MATTER,/
MAKES THE LOVERS CLOSER./
WE COME AND GO FOR EVER,/
BUT LOVE GUIDES ITS FOLLOWER./
WE THE COMMON BEING IS EPHEMERAL,/
BUT LOVE IS PERPETUAL./
